AAACK – I CAN’T GET TO ALL OF YOU!

Posted by Cinderella in Miscellaneous, Newsworthy Tidbits

OMG! I feel really bad – you are ALL leaving the most wonderful comments in the Giveaways section. I love reading EACH ONE OF THEM, because you know I do before I approve them (or send them to spam when you try to sell me an iphone:)

But here’s the thing. I am THRILLED to get such an enthusiastic response with a bazillion comments. Truly, it tickles me.

I just have a dilemma. I always try to respond to each comment left on the individual posts in the different sections of my site, and then go through my link list and visit each one of you when you write a new post, and by then an hour or two has zipped by.

Then if I ALSO try to respond to each comment in the Givewaways section – AND visit your blogs if you have one (I can tell because your name has a link you can click on), well by that time I’ve been going from 6:00 a.m. – until it’s 11:00 at night and I’m exhausted, and still haven’t gotten to read the daily paper, or microwave my usual frozen vegetable dinner or quiche.

For instance this week so far there are more than 300 comments – and probably at least 175 of you have blogs of your own that ideally I’d like to try to visit– and then I have about 30 ‘other kingdoms’ links on my BBH&S sidebar section as well that I try to visit every day.

So we’re looking at me wanting to be able to respond in writing over 500 hundred times in a week, and trying to be very thoughtful about doing so.

I just can’t do it all. I’D LOVE TO, and I can’t.
I can only do some, and I humbly ask for your understanding.

Just remember- blogging and blog reading is supposed to be fun. When it becomes a chore, it”s a hobby gone wrong. This is a sweet post. I get a feeling you are a great friend to have. Remember, blogging shouldn’t cause you to feel bad. On the other hand, it’s great to “meet” so many different people, isn’t it?

      Jane Anne,
Good points – you hit the nail on the head!
And you are right about this too – It really IS fun to ‘meet” so many different nice and interesting people via their blogs.
I’ve found that blogging is a bit like real life – to have a friend you need to be a friend, and so I do the best I can to be a good one.

Don’t you worry about it! I only comment on the blogs I love to visit. When I began blogging I had tons more spare time. That is no longer the case. I have a much smaller number of blogs that I subscribe to in my reader now, and even so I don’t comment on every post.

Don’t you worry about it one bit! It is so sweet of you to want to respond to everyone, but I imagine it is more than a little overwhelming. You don’t want blogging to become something you HAVE to do instead of a pleasure. :) Congrats on the numbers, though! That’s exciting! :)

It really IS exciting Rach, you are right! I’m having tons of fun.

I am breathing a bit easier this morning, having found people are so thoughtfully understanding about it.

      Happy Friday to you:)

i don’t comment back. usually. so now people don’t expect me to so it’s fine. they comment, i read, i love it. if they do leave an email and i feel i should reply, that’s what i do but not in my comments. i bet honestly most of them don’t come back again and read anyway. lighten up on yourself and relax honey. it’s all good. we’ll still love you.

    Lost my comment :(

I agree with the others. Also, if someone has a need it’s up to them to ask to have it met. Meaning if I wrote something I particularly wanted to share, I’d be sure to ask you or anyone else to come and see.

That being said, the other extreme does bother me. That is the few bloggers who never make to anyone else’s blog or interact in any other way. That sends a message that they are somehow better or on a different playing field.

I appreciate the times and the interactions you and everyone else does have.

      Good Friday to you WON.
      Good Point.
Blogging seems to be a microcosm of ‘real life’. Some people are givers in general, and some people are more focused soley on themselves for other reasons we may not be privy to.
If I visit someone regularly and they rarely if ever come back to visit me and comment, I prefer to go elsewhere where I feel valued, and there is more of an equal investment in the cyber-friendship..
