I am thankful for Tricare and SOS International, both of whom got us care overseas and got us back to the states for more intensive care until we came home 9/16/11. I am thankful for my husband who remained calm in crisis and did EVERYTHING he could for our daughter and myself during our Mexico crisis/blessing. I am thankful for all of our family and friends who have reached out to us over the last several months! Last, I am thankful for my husband’s job, despite the time he spends away from home, in that it is both a vehicle for which he can help protect our nation as well as a means for me to stay home right now with our sweet preemie!!”

The five things I am grateful for is my amazing family who have been there for me through 5 deployments, my wonderful husband who is actually going to be home for the holidays except our anniversary
… Again! I am grateful for dr piccone who took stellar care of my baby girl while she was in the special care nursery at the hospital, in the same thought I’m so happy she’s a healthy chubby cheeked four month old :) ! I’m thankful that my skin cancer didn’t spread throughout my body! I’m also thankful for all the necessitys that I don’t have to live without like food and clean clothes! One more is the gracious organizations that take care of all the military families with toys for kids or a little extra food!

“The five things I feel grateful for today are …
My two wonderful boys who bring the sunshine into my day (Hunter 8, Charlie 17 mos) and my adoring husband whom serves his country and local community and makes sure his family is always taken care of, knowing my family has a home to lay there heads, have daily family meals and a yard to play in, my boys are always taken care of with there needs and wants, and we are able to pay our bills each and everything month and spend time with one another. We devote our time to our family as much as we can even with a job and my husband’s profession which takes him away alot. We manage and always make it work. That is what families do!

We have had our share of hard times and I know a lot of families all over the nation are struggling because they don’t have jobs. Teresa Allen says:

The 5 things I am grateful for today is:

    1. My wonderful husband. I thank him for sacrificing all of his wants and needs to make sure that we have what we need and want. This man has changed my life for the better and without him I would be lost. I am proud to be his wife.
    2. My wonderful oldest son. Who keeps me laughing no matter the situation. He has brought me great joy and I am proud to be his mom.
    3. My wonderful youngest son. Who keeps me in awe with his wisdom and intellect. He brings a smile to my face always with his unique way of thinking…always outside the box. I am proud to be his mom.
    4. My wonderful oldest daughter. Though times were tough for the two of us I am proud to say that she is a striving adult and I am proud of her endeavors. Through many tears she has brought me joy and I am proud to be her mom.
    5. My wonderful youngest daughter. Well what can I say she is the baby, my baby lol. She is just as talented as her siblings are and brightens my day with her being. I am proud to be her mom.
Without all of these wonderful people in my everyday life I would not be who I am today. They are the fibers of my security blanket and would be lost without them. So I am very thankful that I was blessed with them!

    Lori Kenney says:

    1.  A fellow military wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer and I’m thankful that her prognosis is good. Please keep her, her family and their journey through this in your prayers.  I think about and pray for her every day.

    2. The ability for me to be a stay at home mom… and grandma. I watch our little grandnugget 2-3 days per week while his mommy and daddy work.

    3.  Our 8 sons… 4 have joined the USMC, 3 have chosen college and 1 is in high school. The Marines have all returned home safely from all their deployments and are working and while the others are still struggling with their career path, they are able to be going to a local college and be home while they do that.

    4.  My husband. Although he was severely wounded in 2006 by an IED and was hospitalized with physical and TBI injuries for 3 months, I’m happy to report that even though it took a good 18 months, he has fully recovered to his crotchety, wonderful self.

    5.  While we are all blessed to be living in the greatest nation in the world – military folks are faced with that reality every day… Dads coming home from work, stopping to play with their kids in the yard while still in uniform… everyone standing at attention – whoever they are – while “Colors” is being sounded both morning and evening… the constant booms of artillary going off… getting stuck behind a military vehicle when driving from one end of base to the other… having to show our ID to shop at the PX or the commissary or going through the gate to come home, etc.

This was a fun little thing to do while having my morning coffee. Thank you for reminding me to count my blessings again. <3

    1. Four beautiful, healthy girls that love their mommy and Daddy.
    2. An amazing hubby that makes me feel special and loved everyday…from KOREA!
    3. The beauty surrounding us in wonderful Olympia, WA. For a Texas girl, I never thought I would like it, but I do!
    4. The love and support of my family. The may be thousands of miles away, but I always have a shoulder!
    5. Each and everyone of the little things I so often forget to see as special…a sticky handprint on the wall, a round of giggles at 6:00 am, a cup of coffee that appears by my bed each morning, a hurried kiss from my girls as they go off to school and when they come home. A remembered dream of my husband. All these things that make my life wonderful and special.

I have an awesome family! They fill me with pride and make me thankful each day!

    Thank you!

The five things I feel grateful for today are
    1) That I am blessed to have a wonderful relationship with God, through who I gain strength, guidance and encouragement.
    2) My family, including (and in no particular order) my husband, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, and friends.
    3) The job my husband has that allows us to have a roof over our heads, food in our mouths and clothes on our backs. I am thankful for that every day… there are reminders everywhere that tell us we are only a hair away from losing it all.
    4) I am thankful that I am losing weight because I have been working SO hard to eat healthier, and I’m thankful that it’s also having a positive nutritional effect on my family.
    5) Last but not least, I am thankful to my son for choosing to be a US Marine to protect our country and provide for his wife and step daughter. His wife cheated on him with her daughters dad and my son carried on. I believe being in the Marine Corps gave him the strength to get through that and gave him the tools to be successful in life with great morals and character. I’m thankful to ALL our military, and I’m very appreciative to those that recognize that the families sacrifice as well. We do. However, if HE want’s to dedicate 4 (+) years to serving our country, it IS our duty to support!!!

Thank you for giving us all a moment to reflect on what we’re thankful for. Amazon gift card or not, it’s sometimes a good thing to just sit and reflect on that.

Jehovah God for giving me one more day of life.
My wonderful husband who’s so patient with me and our baby girls.
My two healthy daughters who at times test my very last nerve but are my world.
My mom and dad who raised me to be a responsible adult.
Let’s face it, the Military. Although we complain about it (especially when our husbands are gone), we know that our husbands have a steady income, that in hand, helps create a stable household .

I am grateful for more than 5 things in my life. Lately, my life has come to a hault, I lost my father…I have this pain in my heart, sometimes its hard to breathe…as tears begin to form…I want him to know I think of him always and miss him terribly. I’ve held the ones I love much closer and much longer lately…life is short and can change at any moment. “Be grateful, appreciate each day,” I tell myself…my father’s passing has brought my family closer…and I have to admit…if I knew what I know now back then…I would’ve tried harder to keep in touch with the ones I love and not be so caught up with everything else that didn’t really matter. So, I am grateful and appreciate the blessings in my life, my family, my friends, my health, and the ability to take care of my kids.

Five things that I am grateful for today:

    1. I am grateful for Spanx. Seriously. I wore them under my dresses on my wedding day, and to meet my husband each time he returned from deployments. They helped hide the damage done by nervous eating.

    2. I am always grateful for coffee. I don’t understand how people can wake up, have a glass of water, and start their day. Not this mama.

    3. I am grateful for stylish hats. My hair is naturally curly and is a hot mess in the morning. Hats help me get to Kindergarten and preschool drop-offs looking slightly less deranged.

    4. I am grateful for Dora the Explorer. One of her wacky adventures is enough to entertain my kids just long enough for me to get dinner on the table.

    5. I am grateful for this way of life that isn’t always fun, or pretty, or even particularly rewarding. Sometimes it’s sad and lonely and ugly. But, it’s the life we chose, and it’s the life we love.

    Five things I’m grateful for:

My children, after four deployments, I admire their strength, and understanding when it comes to Daddies deployments.
My husband, he recently, re-enlisted for life, to not only serve his country, but to also ensure that his family are taken care of.
The Army, sometimes it gets a bad rap, but they have been good to us, and taken care of us. We may not be rich, but we have a roof over our heads, and food on our plates.
I am grateful for our health, we have been very lucky to be overall healthy.
Lastly, I’m grateful for my friends, without them, I wouldn’t manage this Army life too well. We are family in more ways than one, and I’m extremely grateful to have them in my corner when needed! =)

As a military mom I am thankful for the following:
    1. My husband will always be able to look at our children and tell them he truly did all he could to ensure the best world possible for them, even though that meant missing a lot of time with them.
    2. I am thankful that my children are healthy and that Besides the occassional ER trip, I do not have to face poor health to either of my children while my husband is away.
    3. I am thankful that my husband and I have been able to be so consistent with our kids despite coparenting from opposite sides of the world, that when we told our 7 yr old about a 3rd deployment in 4 yrs, she said, “Oh, ok. Is he going to Iraq again?” so adjusted!
    4. I am thankful for the amazing family you find within your other military wives and the support youcan find in them because they understand like others do not.
    5. Lastly, and most important, as a military mom, I am so incredibly grateful that I have never received the knock on the door with a handful of men in blue suits while my husband has been deployed-thankful that he has come home safe, and in one piece to be able to be my husband, my children’s father and the strong soldier he is!

I am a 25 year old mother of two children and wife to a US marine.

    Today, I am grateful for:

    5. The on base Library. As a mother of two children ages 1 and 3, the library has been hours of entertainment for us every week because we can check out endless books and Disney movies for FREE! My kids’ favorite time is story time.

    4. “Pinterest”!!! I do not know if you have heard of this website, but it has been a source of inspiration for recipes, kids’ crafts, holiday homemade decor ideas, and all kinds of interesting things that has got me on a crafty kick and I <3 IT!

    3. My chocolate lab, "Bear". My dog has been by my side providing me loyal and happy company all those lonely nights when my kids are asleep and my husband is working all night. I do not know what I'd do without his companionship.

    2. I am grateful for this time of year because of all the holidays which provides me with the opportunity to give back to the marines who fight for my freedom. For example, every year I open my home on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve to any and ALL marines (usually PFCs living in the barracks) with no place to go and I give them a seat at my dinner table and a blow up mattress in my living room to sleep on. Providing Marines with a home-cooked meal is the smallest way I can show that I appreciate them and think of them during the holidays.

    1. Lastly but above all, I am grateful for the man God gave me to love the rest of my life. Without my husband, I would have never known true and unconditional love or given life to the two most beautiful little sweetie pie munchkins whom I adore and constantly steal kisses and hugs from. :D
    Thank you,

My parents: they let me move back home while I was pregnant (and hubby was deployed) so they could take care of me as I was very sick/bed rest…. they both have full time jobs, yet found the time to take care of me… and let us stay through the first few months my daughter was born. My mom was also in the delivery room, which was such a blessing to my husband and I.
    3. My daughter: she’s a miracle. hands down. We tried for a bit, and through much prayer, fertility drugs, and a never-give-up-faith/hope, she was born :)
    4. My husband (and the MILLIONS of things he does for us): he’s deployed (only a little bit of time left now!) but emails, writes, calls when he can and is financially supporting us so that I can stay at home with our baby. (which is another thing I’m thankful for!)
    5. It’s OCTOBER: actually, the middle of October. This has been the hardest year of my life- having my husband deployed, having our first child/raising her as a “single parent”, and finding tumors/having surgery next month- all without my better half here… but we’re getting to the end of this deployment and we’re so incredibly blessed by the answered prayers, miracles God has given us, and that my husband is safe- even amidst the turmoil where he’s at- every day closer is a grateful thing!

Extremely grateful my husband is doing pretty well 6 weeks post lung transplant. Extremely grateful we have so many friends praying for my husband and our family. Very grateful my 3 year old grandson recovered so beautifully from his eye surgery and to the military’s health insurance that let it happen with next to no expense for my son. Extremely grateful to the donor family that donated so my husband and others could live and enabled other families to celebrate life! God has indeed blessed us!

Thank you for your generosity! Aside from that, I am thankful for the health of my first child, a baby daughter who was delivered two months premature 7/31/11 in Mexico while at a wedding (I DID have permission from my OB to attend). Last, I am thankful for my husband’s job, despite the time he spends away from home, in that it is both a vehicle for which he can help protect our nation as well as a means for me to stay home right now with our sweet preemie!!

The five things I feel grateful for today are:
    - Getting hugs from my son, especially knowing that I will have to leave him for 15 months come May because of military obligations (I have an unaccompanied short-tour)
    - Having a husband who I know will be a great single dad while I’m away even though he’s in the military too
    - Having a family (although far away) who I know will watch my son in a heartbeat if we both have to deploy at the same time again
    - All moments with my family even though we have our rough days because just being with them and having time with them is too precious not to appreciate
    - Finding things like this which show me that there are people out there who realize that this life although worthwhile is not easy. Being appreciated matters, so thank you.

    Shannon says:

Today I am thankful for an abundance of blessings.

    1. My 7 year old child has developed an interest in healthy food! He begs for plums, pears, bell peppers, squash…all wonderful additions to his diet. He is also impacting his friends who now think his lunches are “so cool!” and “so colorful!”.
    2. Since moving here, the search for employment has been incredibly challenging. It seems no matter how much I build an impressive resume, I’m the runner-up. The applicant pool in California is so large that there will always be one applicant who is more qualified then I am. In my abundance of down time, I’ve prayed in hopes for an answer to my ‘purpose’. I’ve discovered now that my time is not being spent in an office because it is not where I am most needed. Along with the constant job-hunt, I have been blessed to spend multiple days in my child’s classroom. I get to see him grow socially and mentally and be on-hand for hugs and kisses whenever wanted or needed. I feel useful and fulfilled helping his overworked teacher (she has 34 students and three boys of her own at home) and am blessed to have such an opportunity. Our finances at home are tight with only one working parent, but the memories we are making together are priceless.
    3. It is autumn! All though the scenery is not as vivid in change as our Oregon/Washington, we have brought the spirit with us. Football, school starting, leaves falling, Thanksgiving, Halloween decorating, corn mazes, jack-o-lanterns, and of course…pumpkin flavored everything! We love it all and embrace every moment of it. We purchased leaf garlands to replace the real leaves usually in our front yard and paired them with scarecrows on our front porch. Our home is where the military sends us, but our spirit travels wherever we go.
    4. New friends! Transition to a new duty station is hard on each one of us. Military wives can sometimes be closed off, children have to adjust in a big, new school, and the Marine has a new unit to impress and make his mark on. We are very lucky to have discovered an incredibly upbeat, loving neighbor with a child the same as ours. She baked cupcakes the other day and brought one over made just for him! We have developed a wonderful friendship and she’s given me the much needed “girl-talk” we ladies need sometimes. Our Marine has made his mark on his unit through demonstrating great leadership and dedication…we are so proud of him! He is an excellent role-model. And our son? He is broken out of his shy little shell and is now quite the “charmer”. He’s found a talent in making others laugh and we couldn’t be happier.
    5. And last but not least, my significant other is my best friend. I know, I know…everyone says that. But mine? He really is! This is the man who will be the first to tell me when I’m wrong. However, he’s also the first to snuggle up and watch bad reality TV with me….all while wearing a matching lime green facial mask/goop. He’s the first to tell me when I need an attitude check, yet he’s the first to hold me when I need a “pity party”. He’s the perfect balance of friendship, passion, and love. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Thank you for your generosity and for the opportunity to end my night remembering the little things that really matter :) . “We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!”
