London’s Best Restaurants

Kai Mayfair (one Michelin Star) has outstanding Chinese food.
Without a doubt the BEST vegetarian hot-and-sour soup I have ever had, and I am passionate about hot-and-sour soup.
The glass noodles with cucumber were also excellent.
Cashew chicken was very tender.
Service was excellent.
I will definitely return:)

Wolfgang Puck’s Cut Restaurant was pretty to look at (request a curved booth where one diner will be able to look out onto the Park).
Service was excellent.

The appetizer of asparagus with bacon and egg on toast was quite good.

Banana cream pie was superb
It was the filet mignon, broccolini and mashed potatoes that didn’t blow me away – while the price DID blow me away. I’ll pass next time.

The Square (two Michelin Stars) was excellent across the board.
Presentation, service, quality of ingredients, quality of taste and value were all wonderful.
A definite ‘yes’ once again.
A veloute of green asparagus with a soft poached pheasant agg and truffle had me scraping the bowl with the spoon it was so delicious.

Gordon Ramsay RHR (Three Michelin Stars).
Their new plates were gorgeous.
Service was excellent.

The amuse bouche and the asparagus starter were both superb.

However, the ravioli was forgettable — as it was last time. Why did I order it here again?
The dessert Tarte Tatin for two was very nice with a marvelously flaky pastry.
After that, I was just over it.
They were quite stingy in pouring my friend’s glass of wine (1.25 ounces!) and the food wasn’t good enough to make me want to return.
Once is enough for here, I think. Go just for the experience of it, but it’s not a place I would go to with any sort of (even yearly) regularity.

LeGavroche still has two Michelin Stars.
The double cheese souffles was, as usual, outstanding.

Asparagus in a lemon-butter sauce was delicious. I could have that once a week, easily, and be very happy.
The passion-fruit souffle for dessert was flawlessly light

It’s just that once again (2 out of 3 visits in the last three years), service was spotty. Lots of staff rushing about, but they don’t necessarily listen carefully to your requests, pay attention when a glass needs refilling, nor exhibit any genuine interest in your experience as a guest.
This is in contrast, markedly unlike their counterparts at The Square, who sincerely seem to CARE that you are enjoying your meal.

Zafferano , with one Michelin Star, is my favorite for Italian food.
The service is always charming, and every meal has been consistently good.

Proscuitto is wafer thin.

Spaghetti with asparagus and sweet chilis is cooked perfectly and as yummy as it looks:)
