Endangered Komodo Dragon. Komodo Dragons are the largest species of lizards. 50 different types of bacteria inhabit the Komodo Dragons mouth, seven of which are deadly. Only 3,000 – 5,000 of them are estimated to exist in the wild, and are endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.

Burmese Python. This sucker is HUGE – ick, eek, yuck. I can’t see his head though, although I’m not entirely sure that I want to!

Green Tree Monitors

Southern Stingray were so gentle that you could pet them. Their skin was very soft and slick. Can you see his eyeball?

Lionfish are gorgeous – there were about ten different color variations in the tank, it was really beautiful to watch them!

A fiddler ray

Notice the peaceful starfish, sedately clinging to the tank wall.
She’s about to get tail-gated by a horrifying sea monster!

Giant Pacific Octopus. I am so sorry I couldn’t get a good picture of him! He was climbing all over the tank wall, pushing the starfish out of the way. It was fascinatingly gross watching this huge creature aso swiftly coil and uncoil.

The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is well worth a 30 - 45 minute visit.
There were also lots of sharks, but I wasn’t able to get any good pictures, sorry!
